College has been pretty busy off late despite me being on vacation supposedly. Most of my batchmates are having fun at home but some of us chaps have been asked to stay back for the moot court. Our college just hosted a National moot court competition sponsored by the Sarin Foundation. We had 22 teams from all over India pit themselves against eachother. Some of the teams include ILS (pune), NLU (jodhpur), Amity Law School (Delhi) and GLC(Mumbai).
the winners were the team from NLU(jodhpur). Our college being the host only had a dummy team so as to avoid any allegations of rigging. The event lasted 2 days, that is the 16th and the 17th but we were kept busy with plenty of work. I was working on the Results comittee and also had a position in the management of the Finals.
Spent last night with the team from Jammu amongst others. It was seriously interesting to listen to them. Its like they live in a totally different world. For the first time we spoke to someone directly affected by the Kashmir problems. It was interesting to know what their point of view on the K-word was.
Another interesting thing was the case do go through it.

Compromis
From the ramparts of the Red Fort on the 15th Aug 2004, the Prime Minister announced that in the interests of national security and for maintaining the regional balance of power, testing of nuclear devices would be resumed.
Later in an interview to the media, the Prime Minister reiterated the policy statement and disclosed that the testing would commence at undisclosed locations and would be primarily aimed at ensuring the continued safety of any nuclear devices that the army, air force and the navy might already possess. He also added that the necessary notifications and instructions to the defense research establishment had already been issued.
Citizens for Peace, a renowned Indian NGO, with impeccable credentials and many non-political prominent academicians and entrepreneurs as its members, organized a televised debate on the issue where many thinkers, strategicians and politicians were invited to debate the issue.
Following the debate, a motion against nuclear testing was passed and it was resolved that Citizens for Peace shall approach the Supreme Court for having the present program of nuclear testing suspended and for an indefinite moratorium on the testing of nuclear devices on land, air or sea.
Citizens for Peace is now before the Supreme Court under Article 32 of the Constitution of India in a Public Interest Litigation.
Notice of the petition had been issued to the Union of India, through the Attorney General.
Argue for or against the proposed suspension and moratorium.
