'Chikna'

For the second time since my admission to AIL I have made the gross mistake of shaving of what little I have of my moustache and beard. ARRRRGGGGGGGHHHH I feel so sick. And even more because of the fact, that a female batchmate of mine, walks up to me, and asks me if I'm feeling alright since my face is all swollen. Wwwaaannnh someone tell me a quick way to grow my beard back...

Ever heard of seniors being ragged by Freshers???

Yesterday was one of the most eventful days in AIL. For the first time freshers ragged their seniors. After we met all the freshers we chose 2 of them whom we liked and had a long intro  session. There isn't any ragging as such in AIL. You just sing songs, dance or something like that maximum. The two 'Facchas' in our room were pretty tense when we called them so to break the ice we made them rag us. LOL. It really was a fun experience and reminded us of our days in first year. Two freshers ragging five seniors (Well thats new).

The first one to be called by them was Kunal who had to give a full intro and asked a few questions and let of easily. The second was Abhay who after the intro was made to dance to the tunes of the 'CHOLI KE PEECHE KYA HAI" number complete with a chunni.
All I have to say is Abhay could dance well if he were a girl.

Third up was Sid who rapped Butterfly, Crazytown while trying to seduce Abhay.
Man that was hilarious and each of of us was rolling on the floor in laughter. You would too seeing those two pleasntly plump guys acting it out.

Next up Arun Baghel. Well it wasn't really fair. Baghel was left with the intro and some questions about horses coz he's a national level rider. I think they were scared of him coz he does the Nunchuks beautifully.

Last and the guy ragged the most was MEEEEE. And even though it was my idea to let them rag us. So the standard intro followed by a session of horse riding on an imaginary horse and mounting and dismounting the imaginary horse without a stirrup. UGGGHHH they must hate me but after 5 minutes of riding around the room they left me off.

Smart guys were trying out all the stuff all the seniors had tried on them. The horse riding thing was my idea originally ;-)

Lets see how eventful Thursday turns out to be.

Welcome to AIL 'sir'... huh sir??? Come again?

18th July 2004, hmmmmm, a day I'm not going to forget for the rest of my life. The erstwhile 1st year is now officially second year, and officially a senior batch. The 80 new students in college have arrived. We call them 'Facchas'. What's a 'Fachha'? Well a Faccha is AIL lingo for First year + bacchas...

A nice group of 44 kids with interests ranging from Basket-ball, horse riding, JAM ( Just a minute) sessions, body building and even skeet shooting. WHOW that seems pretty interesting. For the first time in our lives we get to be called sir by someone. You have no idea what sort of a high that gives you. Well I guess we earned it after completing one year of college life.

Its a nice experience to be back to college and a fresh feeling once again. But some things will take some getting used too. I have all of a sudden to share my room with another student. That takes a bit of getting used too as I used to get a single room in first year.

Yeterday we had a visit by Gen. (Retd) V.P. Malik PVSM, AVSM and one of the ex chief of staffs of the Indian Army for an innaugral lecture for the new session. We were spoken to about well 'Life.'

Class is due in 5 mins so gottago. Will post again later.

Well, that's the para's beret on my head. Always wanted to wear one for life. The Commandos of Para SF(Special Forces) are every Cantonment kids dream come true. Here I borrow dad's para beret. Not quite commando, but close enough. The maroon cap is a symbol of a Paratrooper. The Para SF guys wear them and so do all the Paratroopers who complete a certain number of given night and day jumps. Dad did his jumps with some commandos of the SFF a loooong time back.

Sleeping Beauty

Ahhhh, there lies the chap I was talkin about. LOL doesn't he remind you of sleeping beauty!

Tattoo tale

I always wanted to have a tattoo on me.  At Bangkok I decided that the time had come --- lol.  I had voiced my wishes to my folks at home but thought they didn't take it very seriously.{coz they offered no resistsance to the idea}

Well, when I reached Bangkok and told my aunt about it, you should have seen the shock on her face (GRIN).  I was gonna be chucked out of the house for being a freak amongst them, or so  I felt.  But some convincing and I managed to strike a deal with her that it would be OK if I got Mom and Dad's assent.

My brother rung me up a few days into Bangkok and thought that the idea was pretty interesting and vouched to shield me at home.  So now I had one person's support.  Anyways I got the Tattoo done without telling mom and dad about it once more  and quietly sneaked back into the house without warning my aunt about the sacreilege.

But theEnigma code was to be broken, as my uncle noticed it when he came to wake me up for LUNCH the next day. LoL

And here I am today with the Markings of my CHINESE STAR SIGN(the OX) on my right arm.
Check it out the next time u meet me.
Till then...

LAKSHYA ... My goal

Well at least I managed to achieve my goal of watching Lakshya the movie... LOL. Went to a movie with the family after a long time (been a year or so.) Lakshya turned out to be a nice movie full of Farhan Akthars freshness.
The story isn't your regular war movie. It's about a boy looking for a goal in his life. He stumbles upon the Army by chance and then how he turns into a hero during the Kargil conflict. The movie is a bit of both fact and fiction. This is because the reporter in the movie(Preity Zinta) bears an uncanny resemblance to Barkha Dutt of Star news. Also the fact that Totoling ridge a stratergic post overlooking the Leh highway was freed by a young bond and PVC recipient Capt. Vikram Batra. But in the movie Barkha Dutt becomes Romilla Dutta and Vikram Batra becomes Capt. Karan Shergill. Also there was no love between the real characters but more of a mutual admiration.

You have to catch this movie, atleast once give it a shot.

Main Hoon Na

Watching this movie was long overdue and finally caught it at a theatre in Lucknow with some pals from college. MAIN HOON NA is Bollywood hardcore commercial cinema at its best. Worth watching once. So catch it...
